Dr. Nordrum made art a serious avocation as a teenager in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan
taking art lessons at Cranbrook Institute and has continued painting through her
career as a veterinarian. Her association with animals, keeping cats, dogs, and birds,
breeding Samoyeds, has meant that a lot of her art has been paintings of small animals,
doing commissioned pet portraits for some of her clients. She has also painted
wild life, beautiful scenary, and portraits of people.
Andrea continues to study with artists in South-eastern Michigan acquiring new
techniques to render increasingly well crafted paintings.
The popularity of her art means that she retains few of her paintings and
does much of her work on a commission basis.
